1. INTRODUCTION

The unit is designed to test the melting point temperature of fusible plugs used in safety and pressure relief systems.

2. WORKING PRINCIPLE

The fusible plug is screwed into a heated steel disk with a ½ NTP thread.

• The disk heater raises the temperature, controlled by a PID controller with a K-type thermocouple.

• When the solder melts, it drops into a crucible, triggering a balance mechanism.

• The system freezes the temperature reading at the exact melting point.
